Well, unless you live in Brazil you probably would not. This is Draco, a 2 year old Brazilian Rainbow Boa.

LOL....don't be scared Barb, he is harmless. I worry more about the dogs biting me than him. He likes to hang out and take a nap in my new Christmas palm. Hey, who was it that had a problem with someone stealing his palms? LOL

Hi Craig,
Jeeeeezzzuzzz, if that's what it takes to deter thefts, I'd get a snake...I think!
Actually, we had some folks wandering our Okanagan property today before the rain and cold hit and
they told me they saw TWO SNAKES!
I felt the hair on my neck standing up, as I reassured them there were no rattlers here, just bullsnakes.
But I didn't tell them bullsnakes are born with a bad temper and are fiercely aggressive.
Sorry, darlin', but I cannot get over my aversion to snakes. There's no (*puke* icon) ha ha.
I'll take my chance with the plant thieves. :x

Must be the "Eden thingy".
Barb
PS--the hair on my neck is still standing up!

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
