Too close

I always tell people two things when siting a palm. The eventual width of the leaf canopy, and to look up for overhead obstructions. I've seen some poorly planted palms and this one isn't the worst.

Not the worst but not good either. We have a motel on Capilano road that planted three palms just as close as this one is and the palms eventually grew around the soffit but they look funny now.
