Found your message board today. Hope more people find out about it!
I am a member of the PNW Palm and exotic plant society. I have numerous palms that I am experimenting with here in a zone 8b climate. Up until last year we had experienced zone 9a or 9b winters but we had three cold nights in early January were we got down to 18F.
I was lucky and I didn't loose any palms but I had the centre spear pull out of my pheonix canariensis but it has since recovered and now has five new fronds growing out of it.
I look forward to talking to all of you in the future.

Hi Wes! I'm fairly new too and in Montana. I'm still an indoor girl with my palms due to our temps, but hopefully someday I will get enough guts to plant one outside. :
I just registered and this is my first post on this board. Some of you may know me from the Pacific Northwest board. Always nice to talk palms & exotics, no matter where you're from.
Hi i am just arriving. I have been growing palms for a year and a half and I have already 150 trachy seedlings going strong. I recently brought Phoenix seeds back from my trip to Portugal. I am from Victoria BC.
P.S. I am glad to see a forum with decent bulletin software!
