Gost Town Trail RD AZ

Post by DesertZone » Sun Aug 15, 2010 12:53 pm

My place in AZ is right off of Gost Town Trail RD. Pearce is the first gost town you see and the start of Gost Town Trail RD.

Pic of the merc. and a few at the cemetary.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I think only a couple, but there is a few little shops with south western things and pottery for sale (tourist trap ). I wish I had more pics of the area. :D

"...with his wife who runed the boardinghouse."
great historical story there.

Interesting they had a new jail

Great desert landscape, interesting cemetery plots.
Presume it was difficult to dig, so everything's on the surface and well protected with sides/lids.

Thanks for that link.

I am surprised people went through all 64 pics.

Speaking of agave, do you have any agave in your yard Tim?

Tim,
how sad those agaves all died, they were beautiful specimens.

Yup, go for size!

I might have to make a trade with you. That parryi that I have is very hardy so far and has a sucker I might trade for a cactus pad? I have had it for a few years now, very dry sand and gravel mix.

A good video of the area by my place in AZ, and the little ghost town. I'm home sick now.

Tim,

You should be easily be able to keep a Parryi alive. I barely did anything to mine and they came out great. I would assume it's about as wet and soggy here as it is there. I tossed a small rose cone and threw in a 4 c9 bulbs on a thermocube and everything was perfect. Mice had a feast on my Agave Americana :(

Thanks Barb. :D

I like that the Opuntia fica are coming back at the little ghost town, I got mine from a very nice lady at the "Prickly Pear Emporium". I guess I can try again. :D

No, but when they first lived in AZ they were in Elfrida just south of there.

Funny that they live by a road with a similar name. I really like that area of AZ as well. 8)
