The graphics for next week are downright depressing.
Another polar vortex.

Yikes.... I don't think I'll ever complain about cold weather again here. I feel embarrassed to say its been a Zone 9 Winter so far and being on higher ground have managed to escape the flooding .

Now it's a rock slide that closed another highway.
We're running out of highways.

3 meters of snow in the last 10 days up there.
That avalanche isn't going away anytime soon: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-c ... -1.2545598

Andy...a zone 9. :P
the hills would have to be on fire here to get to a 9.

Well it just touched down to -24 just a few minutes ago here :( but Since I've started logging all of this localized weather into a database here a couple months ago. I can run some interesting analysis against the data. Since the start of the year it has only been and average of -8.64C now you could have fooled me I thought the average was much colder but the data doesn't lie. I've had 100 hours of temperatures above 0c Since Jan 1 (I don't know where I was I can only remember a hand full of them.) I had 55 hours of temperatures below -20c and 11 hour below -25c and my record low since I started logging this data is -26c.

I need some nice weather to cancel out all of this cold data.

Looking at the long range next week looks like more of the same but 2 weeks out looks promising right now...

Tavi, that 96 car pileup is incredible.
Thankfully no-one was killed, what a tangled mess.
thought the average was much colder but the data doesn't lie
Shorter time period "averages" skew the numbers because you're only going back to January.
Taken over a longer period, say, 10+ years is what the gov't sites use.

Yeah, looks like everyone's "sailing" mid-March. :D
Barb

EDIT: forecast for Regina tonite is -41C, windchill -51C. :pale:

It's a shame that the weather sticker doesn't show the temperature at the time when the post was made instead of being update all the time. Would be nice to go back and review the posts and see what was the temperature.

Anyway, tonight -25C (-13F) feels like -35C(-31F), but I send everyone in this forum a 'martisor'

I've thought that too, Tavi.
Especially when looking back at a previous winter's posting...during summer...and reading about us all whining.
When the sticker says +22C

It'd also eliminate the necessity of keeping personal records.

My martisor's frozen.
