Aaron,
thanks for the ONGOING   training session.
What a fabulous pic for comparison.
Yes I DO see the difference, but from a "cold start" (without being told), would never

This summer you'll have to ID my two Washies for sure to see what hybrids might be.
John thought one was a filibusta, but couldn't remember.
They oughta be easier to nail down this summer.

Appreciate your digging up that photo Aaron, thanks. :D
Chihuahua MX, huh?

OK, Aaron, get ready to laugh at my attempt:

Washy robusta at left, flanked by two big filibustas? or are those tall ones filiferas? :dontknow:

You'll be pulling your hair out again, I know.

LOL, The two big ones are robustas and the small one filibusta? I have a hard time telling filibustas apart from the others. So when I can decide I call it a filibusta.

Filifera- bigger leaves, lighter color, fat trucks, hairy leaves, more leaves, stiffer leaves, bigger crowns.

Robusta- smaller leaves, dark green, smaller trunks when older, less leaves, smaller crowns.

Filibustas- the ones I can't decide what they are.

For the most part robustas will when they get bigger. However the both can. It can be very confusing.

Filifera also have more fingers on the leaves, if that makes sense?

The cost of living there is quite high despite Italy being almost bankrupt ( but not as bankrupt as the UK). Holidays / Vacations there are much more expensive compared to say Spain or Greece. As an island lover I would love to visit Sicily or more to the point live there.

Andy's right, Michael, where are the pics of your trip?

Friends visited southern Italy last Fall and said it was VERY expensive.
I forgot the name of the place.
Something like $10,000 for 3 weeks  which means I'll never get to go.

Bougainvillea all over the place too.
I've never been able to keep one alive for even a month.

But the palms in Sorrento...wow, stunning.
And I love the narrow cobbled streets, seems everyone rides a little motorcycle.

Yes, Ive taken about 1000 pics, but in specific Nikon format which must transferred to jpeg. It takes time.
Living cost is about 100 euro a day at the best location in Napoli. Spent about 2000 euro in 7 days for accommodation, food and trips. KLM ticket from Almaty to Rome was about 500 bucks.

Barb, Air Canada and our Kazakh Air Astana are monopolists. KLM is kinda struggling company. So some time it gives good price for travelling to Europe. 7 hours to Amsterdam and 1 and half hours to Rome and back to Kazakhstan for 500 bucks is not too bad.
