unless we get to some zone 4b/5a temps......perhaps even colder.
I hope I won't be able to offer that...
Didn't get around to planting the 2 Big Mamas this summer, but for sure next spring.
Plus my 2 new nanas.

Hurricane destroyed my protection again, but I'm not giving up
Still looks and feels like early Spring with temperatures +10C/50F during the day!
Yuccas under the big polytunnel:
Y. gloriosa/recurvifolia complex - still growing!
Check out this rosette!
And still unknown but growing longer and longer leaves yucca 'mystery'. I wish I put someone inside so you can see how big it is now:

Very very nice, marceli.
Rather than "someone",
stick a coffee cup in there for scale.

Nah! Coffee cup would be way too small, but I should have written 'something' - you got me there!

Perfect!
Looks soooo nice.
Although the word "arctic" isn't lost on us in North America.
Your temp is so mild, it might need some water?

It had some water when the hurricane came.
This bottle was picked to keep the arctic cold at bay

Love the colour on both, marceli.
And the filaments on the Y.ele.
Very nice.

Update...
Y. elegantissima (or schellenbaum):
Y. gloriosa and my boot:
Y. arkansana:
Leaves are narrow now. Is it due to dehydration?
Y. baccata:
Probably the worst looking yucca of all. Me thinking rain shelter all year round. Too high precipitation here for this species.
Y. recurvifolia keeps growing new leaves... in February:
Y. neomexicana:
This was an experiment due to very small size of this plant. Should I keep it under rain protection all the time?
Y. nofckinidea
Pretty decent size now. Looking forward to seeing it growing!
Another mystery yucca:
No protection at all.

You haven't had much of a winter, marceli, so it's surprising that one or two aren't doing well.
Didn't think you had a lot of rain either.
Leaves are narrow now. Is it due to dehydration?
Others here will be able to tell for sure, but whenever any leaves of mine (palms or yuccas) fold lengthwise, it's always been lack of water.
So you might be correct.
But the ones that are doing well are so lovely!

They didn't look mint before winter came, so I knew it's gonna happen. I guess I'll try baccata with rain shelter. It really likes to be kept dry. Check our rainfall graph out:

Wow, marceli, you have had a lot of rain.
I'm sure envious of your annual average temperatures...
especially winter.
Had no idea that Plock Poland was that mild.
Looks as though you're correct...a rain shield would be a benefit.

do you have another photo of your Y. neomexicana seedling? The photo you posted almost looks more baccata-ish or could be another baccatae-type Yucca.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

The truth is I live in continental climate, which means I have warm-hot summers and cool, sometimes very cold winters. It can be either -30C or +5C, but colder winter is more possible, unfortunately

I do have photo of bigger Y. neomexicana from the same seed batch:

Hi Marceli
the second neomexicana looks much more like a neomexicana......that first seedlings sure had wide, thick looking leaves. Your big mama's look great.
Hi Barb
you big mamas look great too. Get them into the ground in spring......the more sun the better.

I don't think I have, I get mine from sucker plants.
I had some seed from one of my plants, and planted some, but I don't think any sprouted.

marceli,
I'd give them an hour of filtered light in the morning, increasing the time over a couple of weeks.
Let's see what others say.
