Rain and rain and rain.....

Post by Beny » Wed Jun 12, 2013 2:45 pm

Yep, we had a nice and hot end of april and beginning of may, but now since 2-3 weeks we re having at least 3-4 days with rain and thunderstorm per week  ....thats looking bad for the crops ...we need some dry days here.
Barb, im gonna send you some water for your summer reserve  ....

The rivers are so high, like at the end of march after melting snow....

Looks like more on the way too.

I bet your palms are loving the rain...they'll grow like gangbusters this year.
I'm already worried mine won't fit in the winter hut.

Mike, I had to look up what a derecho is...holy cow some of those Google Images look brutal!
Keep the camera handy for those spectacular cloud formations.

Would it help your musa to tie them together about 5 feet up?
Maybe wrap some insulation under the string so string doesn't cut the trunks?

Keep us advised what's happenin'
:?

We were very lucky to dodge the derecho and heay winds here in Audubon. We only got about an additional inch of rain to go to almost 8.75 inches this month so far. I think it was windier at our place along the Delaware Bay in cape May . I'll go down to morrow after work for the weekend so I'll see, but I did not hear of any damage. Glad it wasn't so bad for us!

8.75 inches in 12 days.
Holy smokes.

Glad the worst of it missed you.

Saving a ton of $$$$$$ on water obviously.

For sure,we had a somewhat wet end to late fall and late winter/early
spring here saw frequent heavy snow(would have been heavy if it
didn't melt during the day)with good rainfall in April and almost 10" in May.

We could use a drink now though to keep it going as temps are heating up.

10.5 inches rain Mike?
Holy Moly...where do you put it all? (don't answer that  )

Yes, sad to hear about 100,000+ people either evacuated or soon to be evac in Calgary.
The photos on TV were awful...little tiny creeks became roaring rivers, ripping away backyards and sundecks.

But those can be replaced.
Hope no lives are lost.

Guess we got off easy here...

Oh man!!! The humidity would be oppressive.

Next week we'll climb back into heat...close to 100F expected all week.
So we'll get a rare dose of humidity too after all our rain.

Yup, weather's gone wild everywhere.
