5ft of Snowi in the Northeast of America?

Post by andym » Mon May 27, 2013 6:40 pm

I see that Jet stream has been playing tricks again. ABC news reporting deep snow in the Northeast of America and floods further inland. Anyone affected?

I know that it snowed in parts of Quebec the other day, and upstate NY received at least 3' of snow in some areas. Luckily I'm not affected this time

They received a few inches of snow, melting snow near Sherbrooke in the easten township 200km east of my location. The temperature drop here just north of Montréal at 42F or 6C, with rain but no snow here :D . Maybe in the Appalachian mountain in Maine,Vermont and NY state received more du to the altitude :? ...

Depends on whee you are. Pittsburgh was 27F yesterday morning, not sure if they got snow. I know boston didnt, but it seems the 3 feet was up in upstate newyork. I belive that is up near or in the appalachians.

These were the coldest temps I could find for Pitts

May/25 Partly Cloudy
Actual: 62 | 33
Precip: 0.00
Average: 73 | 52
Precip: 0.13

May/26 Partly Cloudy
Actual: 67 | 36
Precip: 0.00
Average: 73 | 52

I did see or rather here about 3' of snow in "upstate" NY.

We got 3 inches of rain in two days...yipppeeeee, free water.

But sure appreciate the sun again! :D
You can almost hear the grass grow with all that water.

Mountain passes in BC have been getting snow overnight for 3 days...but they're at 5 to 6 thousand feet elevation.

I see that all the time, it was colder or hotter in an area than was recorded. I think they take an average of 3 weather stations for the "offical" temp. :)

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

if you hit the 'animate season' link under 'snow precipitation' you'll get a VERY COOL looking animation on the snow for the ENTIRE SEASON. Very interesting.

Did you flood out?
That's one quarter of our annual water!
Nope, lucky it just ran off the hill in all the right directions.
Saved a couple of buildings from being flooded.
Very lucky.
