Should be as cold tolerant as it's cousin, the Chinese Fan Palm, ( L.chinensis )

These seem to be easy germinators, a 1-3 day soak, 85* - 90*F heat in a sealed container will give results from two weeks onward.
Last batch of seeds.
And a couple weeks later........
This is a seedling from last Summer, these held up well in the GH over the Winter.

Barrie - I am really starting to appreciate the Livistona's. I've overwatered, underwatered and kept them too cold - they just keep growing
Do you have any of the green form planted out yet?

Steve - I'm with you on the appreciation for the Livistonia family. I have two very healthy and very large Liv Chinensis that are as happy inside in the winter as they are outside in summer. They are not fussy and they are very easy to care for. A big thumbs up.
Kent in Kansas

Would you not rate the l.chinensis hardier than washingtonia robusta or p. canariensis?
I have thought of planting one but I am not sure that I cound protect it enough.
