Mario, welcome to the board. You are growing some great palms, and that other guy has provided some of the most intense protection that I've seen!

Hi Mario
The plastic that the robustas were wraped in may have been what hurt them. Some plastic wraps let off gas that is posion to plants. Guessing.

Ouch.
To add to what Aaron said, whatever plastic you use shouldn't touch the fronds.
I've never used black plastic.
Those blue lights, are they LED?
LED are lousy, aren't incandescent.
They don't emit heat.
C-9s or C-7s is what you want to use.

Ewww. They look heat-fried. Washys can get by on our winter with zero supplemental heat except for the coldest of nights. Just a wrap of R19 batting and a plastic cover will get you a long ways. You have to cut the leaves off but since they grow so fast it's replaced next season. I haven't got one in the ground but I've seen enough around that I'm convinced its very doable. Start with a Filifera, proper siting, adequate passive protection, and good luck!
Ya maybe they are. It hasnt been gettn too cold here not much below 40. But the heat tape is set on a thermocube

Nope, no Lowes; maybe some back East where population is larger.
We've got HD but same as yours, they only have Majesty palms and now and then a few Sagos.
Rare when they have something noteworthy.
Found my big Foxtail there...couldn't believe my luck that day.

The Washies look wonderful in snow, Mario.
When a lot of wet/cold is expected, try to keep the spear area dry, even though the rest is unprotected.
You'd prevent spear pull from fungus by keeping it dry.
