American Palm? Engelmann Palm? Stoner You-Tube Video!

Post by lucky1 » Sat Feb 05, 2011 12:36 pm

I thought this 17-minute Palm Tree video was a joke:
Says he lives in "two zones"

I can only guess what he's smoking.

Barb, I didn't even have to look at what you wrote in the thread, I already knew who you were talking about just by reading the title

The discussion about this guy has been going on for months through various forums. Everyone has tried to help him as much as they can, yet he refuses any help. Here's a thread from the midwest board: http://members3.boardhost.com/MIDWESTPA ... 69855.html . Similar threads exist on other boards, with a recent one on the Hardy Palm board generating over 100 replies!

He's cleaned up his website a little. When he first came on the scene, he had taken photos from many members of the HPS board, and used them as his own! LOL . He gets all of his palms from the infamous Ty Ty nursery, so he's convinced that he will get a refund if any die during winter...

I think most people have gone from trying to help him to just having a good laugh at all of his videos

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Really? I had never heard of it--or him--before.
Unbelievable nonsense...I feel sorry for the nursery that supplied him.
Hopefully they can convince him to shop somewhere else...who needs THAT kind of business?

Imagine giving palms a name of your choice, and doing a video of them--in all their red crispy glory--narrating "look at that spear grow".
And saying he lives in TWO zones.
:withstupid:

Feel sorry for his parents; he obviously still lives with them.

I fully expected him to walk out onto that lake...and SPLUSH.

Man oh man, sure hope he decides to not have children

Ironically, the nursery that supplied him is probably the only company that "stretches the truth" more than he does! Check out some videos by "Ty Ty nursery" on youtube, and you'll see some more ridiculous ads.

Cameron, I just read your reply on that link.
Well done, an extremely well constructed summary of not only your opinion, but of real life facts.

Doubt I would've been that charitable.
The man's a mental midget.

Will have a look at some of those videos you refer to.

I think Aaron's saying the video is a waste of bandwidth.
Same with the Ty Ty video on Bananas...after 45 sec I turned it off.

I should not comment on this fellow.

It is unbelievable that some companies can make claims on their products and still survive as a valid business. I wonder how the warranty claim process sounds, once their product fails.

P.S. Snow for sale here, super cheap! PM me!! FedEx shipping. Just in time for your tropical holiday season! Guaranteed Satisfaction!!! Trained to stay frozen in tropical climes, we call it Angel Accumulation. ;0 :)

Ehh I have lost respect for this guy. I hate when people make up names and sell plants as something they are not or rename species or cultivars that were bred by someone else, makes things more confusing. Also he seems shady for guaranteeing that all his palms will survive, and I kinda find it hard to believe all 50 survived, as the people who bought them prob. had little experience over wintering palms. It really annoys me when people make claims they can't keep, he really seems like the bragging full of s**t type of person, sorry lol.
