Finally after 3 years in the ground some of my babies are giving fruit! I'm amazed at them!

Hope to the banana gods you get some seeds! Apparently you can grow the flower in a vase, like a cut flower as well.....

Hey, yep I removed the covering in mid March, probably for good by end March. However t was so mild this winter that I would often flip the top hatch of covering on warm sunny afternoons. I just cant get over how huge and heavy the pod of flowers and fruit is...Amazing!!

Storms came through pretty strongly, preceded by high winds all day long. They got pretty shredded and even list a lot of huge leaves. However, the flower pod and bananas are fine! We got almost 2 inches of rain also which is always welcome!

No worries Barb, that was last year-the winds have been pretty gentle on us this year
but the Saba certainly was shredded yesterday and the G-reed grass took a snapper
or 2 getting smacked against the roof line(gutter)....other than that-have not had a real t-storm since July 1.

Thanks John. Well, They have basically become two small banana groves. I probably get about 15 pups per year from each group of trees. Some of them I leave in the ground and others I hack away and usually give away. They are amazing plants!

Thanks Barb, we're actually pretty lucky here in South Jersey with such sandy soil. More storms last night, but beautiful again today! Not a single cloud in the sky....Finally no heat and humidiy!!!!!!! Love Fall weather. :)

Love Fall weather.
Me too, Mike.
More energy to work/enjoy the outdoors when it isn't blistering hot.

Let's hope it lasts until November...heck, why not December?
