Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Great work, Barb! There is a member of another forum from Ontario who also has a flowering T. fortunei. He's looking for pollen to produce some viable, hardy seeds. Please PM me if you'd be able to help out!

Good idea Barb!

I hesitated at first to cut mine because for a few,the whole post trunk cutting history
(and 2 more pulls)was recorded in the leaves....but I figured some have graduated
from spear pull...at least the kind they has a s youngsters.....so..

Thanks everybody.

Cameron, sent you a PM ... hope it's not too late to collect pollen.
It's been flowering for probably a month already, through all our rainstorms (total of 4.5 inches rain in about 9 days...virtually unheard of here!)
The reason I mention the rain is...would any pollen remain or was it knocked off by storms?

Jim, yup, decided to cut after you cut your Washies.
Besides when they're bigger than juveniles I figured the Trachy could do without the lower leaves, especially since fertilizer has been applied.

He looks great Barb. A sure sign of a healthy Trachy when they hold onto their oldest fronds for a long time. How are the Washy`s doing?

Thanks John.

Washies are doing great, despite the lack of heat here this spring.

We're getting a pounding rainstorm right now...phoned H (who works near you) and he said not a drop of rain there! :|
So you're probably walking around in flip flops and shorts.
I'm wearing a sweater again.

How's your stuff doing?

Barb I bought two large Trachy`s and a large Butia capitata from the buy and sell here. The ad was in for two months. I offered him half of what he was asking for all three. I think the fact that he knew they were going to a good home was why he sold them so cheap. Pics soon.

Kelowna's Buy'n'Sell is a lot more interesting than anything on sale here...just tractors and horses for sale

Can't wait to see your new acquisitions John.
To find a Butia for sale in the Okanagan is rare...good for you.

Hi Barb

Your Washies look good......hopefully you'll get some heat to ramp the growth up.

Thanks guys.

The Washies and Y.rostrata could use some heat, but the Trachy is happier than a pig in mud with all the rain and cool weather.
