Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks folks!
Jim, that Jade tree has been in full bloom since I think December, the flowers are now dried and only fall off when brushed against.
Re the Lavandula stoechas "anouk", hardiness zone 6 (-23 to -18C, -10 to 0F) says the label.
Other side of patio pics soon, and some sad ones too as thinning of the herd continues...

very cool, Barb. In that first pic, is that a jade or a pachypodium with the flowers on it?

Wow Barb - that jade tree was flowered out like that last year, I didn't even know they did that. I have one that is about 12 years old/ 2 feet tall, maybe someday. Is that Foxtail one of the one you grew from seed? Paul

Hey Paul, when you get old, you tend to have a lot of really old plants too.
Can't remember exactly when it started blooming...guessing probably 15 or 16 years old.
But it lives all winter in the cold building, blooms last from Christmas to about end March.
These blossoms are really dry now and ready to fall off.
The big Foxtail was from HD a few years ago...you know...right after you pop 50 seeds, you find a big one for sale.
Murphy's Law.
My young Foxtails got damaged outside in the cold a few weeks ago, then sunburned when it got hot.
Thinning the herd again.

Barb your tropicals are looking good! Too bad the young Chrismas palms got to much sun. Here is a Foxtail palm you gave me a couple of years ago. Starting to pick up growth now. http://www.flickr.com/photos/67364497@N ... hotostream

Nice job of that Foxtail, John.
Sure healthy looking!
I'm always amazed at how green Foxtails look even when every other palm has yellowish fronds before fertilizing.
The young Veitchia look a little crappy but at least a couple will outgrow the sunburn.
No worry about sunburn today.
Crap weather
