When to transplant Sabal minor seedlings

Post by bgodwin1987 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 8:08 pm

I have a small tubaware container filled with like 30 Sabal minor seedlings and they are starting to get there second set of leaves. When can you transplant them into a larger container?

Now that they're getting their 2nd set of leaves, they should be good to go.

Great to know as I assume that two leaf rule applies to most palm seedlings?

I have maybe 80 or so seedlings(Mexican and California palms) growing in individual cells that are all tall 1 leaf plants and was curious when to put them into larger more permanent pot, although I did 4 this weekend.

Agree with the second leaf stage.

That's when I up-potted my Foxtails.
Didn't lose any.

You can transplant them any time as long as you don't damage the roots. They are like weeds here & you will find them in every crack and crevasse, they are a nightmare. I'm constantly pulling them out & throwing them in the trash.
