English laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) -
An average run of the mill, common as grass, often overlooked tree. Mostly grown and sheared as hedging material, this can if groomed and maintained, become a solid feature tree. They provide a dense canopy of evergreen leaves and an intensely fragrant bloom period in spring. Berries in autumn are sought after by birds which also use it's thick crown of foliage as shelter during nasty weather.
Cheers, Barrie.

Nice specimen. They do make a great tree. Yours looks great.
I got to come over and see your place again. It looks like everything has grown alot since I was last there.
