5b zone having a 6b winter

Post by RJ Tropic » Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:45 pm

The lowest recorded temperature in my back yard so far this winter has been - 3.9 F. That makes this winter here in Innisfil Ontario on track for a 6b winter season. I'm liking this. :D

Zone 5b having zone 7a winter here with plenty of 50 & 60s to back it up.

Mid 60s here today and 50s(maybe)all week!

So far only 2F for a winter low.

So far in the North Okanagan BC, my lowest was -21.6C -7F.

Noticed too that instead of persistent cold (like some winters), we get a warm-up 3 or 4 days later. :compress:

So far, for us here in Beamsville,ON we have been experiencing a very 8a winter. Only 11 hours one day in early Jan were between - 12.2c and -13.5c as well as two random hours the other day at -13.4c those are 7b temps. We are officially 6b but have been off from being truly a 7a zone for the past ten years each year by only a few degrees a few days for a few hours.
Our coldest day this winter...-13.5c . Also, maximum of three days below zero and max of two days in negative teens.
