Great for u huh? Rainy here too...I covered my trachies with plastic just for the rain in case it freezes in teh next week or so, I do not want them to be wet and then cold and then get mold/fungus....I lost one to that before.....Good luckseedscanada wrote:Coldest was a few days ago -5 celcius. Today it is pouring rain and 5c. Have had NO snow yet to shovel or brush off the car. Only scraped off car windshield 3 times so far.

The lake used to freeze over every year in the 60s and 70s, every 2 years in the 70s and 80s, every 5 in the 90s, and its only froze over once in the last 10 years here.lucky1 wrote:Thanks for that nice pic, Jesse.

I'm sure if I have a couple of beer, I'll understand that.id be at least 10C colder during the winter, and 5 -10C warmer in the winter.
Can't wait for MArch!!!! We're leaving Miami today to go back to NJ...UGH!!!!!!!!Okanagan desert-palms wrote:Coldest here so far -8c in mid Nov. It was a cool brown Christmas here. Two more months left til our palms make it through another winter.

Yes....we got it too and it sucks!
Snow on the yucca crowns is not good, they do better if its dry and -20C. I will try and keep the snow of the big J-tree, but the wind blows the covers off.lucky1 wrote: But your yuccas and cactus would be warmer with a deep blanket of snow instead of just the cold arctic air.
So it might be a good thing?

I think they lowered our snow warning. I hope for rain.DesertZone wrote:This really sucks3-6ft of snow!
