Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Oh, Aaron, that was sooooo sad.
Stunned that the cycas revoluta went that flat, that fast.
He said it had been -11C with a previous cold record of only -6C.
A wonderful variety of beautiful palms in that gorgeous garden...the Jubaeas (especially the tall one) are (were) beautiful. What a shame.
He's got every palm I've ever wanted, and then some.
I hope those tall tree ferns and cordylines weren't dead after all.
Heart-breaking video.

Yes very sad! Imagine what he could have saved if he put a few sheets/blankets over them for a few nights.
He has some updated garden vids, you can see what lived and what I thought should have lived.
The difference between dry winters and wet winters is just crazy to me, that garden did not get all that cold -11 or 12F, med fans, robustas, cidp and others have all come back from 0F in the southwest. To have lost med fans after 12F wow.

That occurred to me too as I was watching it, Aaron.Imagine what he could have saved
He did have a bunch of "comforters" hanging up in one of those pics, presumably to dry, after he removed them from some plants (the bent-over ones)

Just what I was thinking about wet/or/dry winters.
His garden looked so...well....wet and cold, with not a breeze providing air circulation, probably from houses all around?
Kind of like a swamp/high water table?
I think he said it had been cold for 17 days in a row.
Sheesh, and we get cold for 2 to 3 months.

If I had HIS spectacular palms outdoors, they'd be festooned with Christmas lights and even cardboard boxes are better than nothing.
He had such a beautiful tropical garden...

I still can't get over that big Jubaea (likely dead)...probably took 20 to 30 years to grow to that size.

That one would have hurt the most. I feel for them, they sure have a nice place.lucky1 wrote:Imagine what he could have saved

I never thought the tree ferns would come back, I might try one some day.
