Soon it will all be over
Well just got a call from the Rockford IL Nicholas conservatory that tomorrow morning they will be here to take almost all of my palms. There will be lots of digging I am going through a terrible break up with my wife and I dont want them to end up dead from neglect. My female I let set seed so I have lots of seeds from my trachy this year. I have a new house lots of space.

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully all the palms survive the transplant and you can still enjoy them!

Mike, so glad you found a new home for those beauties of yours.
And what a great home that is.
You can watch them grow in their new home!
Take some pics of the dig please.
Hopefully you just have to hold the camera, not a shovel.
Which ones aren't they taking? and why?
Hopefully you don't have to leave that huge yucca (in your brick planter) behind...(the one I thought was called Spanish Bayonet).
Just think, Mike, a new house and a new yard for you to plant to your heart's content.
Hopefully we'll see pictures of that soon, too.
In the meantime, buddy, chin up.
We're pulling for you.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the link to that great video (6 min).
Exciting watching that conservatory take shape...ooooh, wish my community had the money to do one.
Man, it's tall...guessing 50 or 60 feet?
Yup, that'll be a great home for your palms.
Hopefully somebody thinks to give you a lifetime membership for your palms donation.

Mike,
you have my sympathies. If you want to talk in private, send me a PM and we can chat on the phone or by Facebook.
I went through a divorce a decade ago and so know it is really, really tough.
On the palm-end, the Trachies I had back then died when they did not get adequate protection during a cold snap. (I appreciated that my ex was genuinely sorry.)
It took me a few years to get over things and try Trachy again. You'll get there--take your time.

Hang in there, I also know all too well of the D word.
After the dark always comes light.
Glad to see those awesome palms going to a good place.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

That's OK Mike.
Maybe the conservatory folks will post photos of your stuff going into their palm house there.

Too bad man
I wish you the best..
As for the palms... Im sure you couldnt have picked a better place! When I midnight moved back to onario from alberta, I had to leave about 15 large potted plants (most I grew myself), and the hosue I let them at, surely just let them die. I can sympathize with you there
When your down, the only place you can go is up...
