I havnt had much success growing palm from seed. Ive tried 2 or 3 dozen types and have managed to germinate mabey 4 or 5 kinds, including Phoenix Canariensis, Dypsis lutesence (areca palm, used to be Crysalidocarpus), and a few kinds of trachycarpus.
The best part is, the ones that managed to germinate, happened to be 2 of the rarest ones i ordered, them being Dypsis Lanceolata (Ivowowo palm), and Dypsis Arenarum (sand palm, very similar to Areca palm). These 2 are possibly extinct in the wild (Madagascar), and may only survive in cultivation.
