Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Welcome to the forum Wollemi25, nice to have you aboard.
Great pics, that Wollemi has a nice bluish look, mine's just a dark green, about the same size.
Interesting how the young MP already has mature characteristics.
Naturally, we're all envious of "Coasters" being able to start stuff outdoors.
Fan palm being planted this year?
Yeah, Tim, time for a pic update.

According to this website its between 5 and 10 years old.http://www.victorialodging.com/monkey-tree/tips When I got it thought it was in a 4" pot, very root bound and in complete shade. So it might be older than that. But the root growth is starting to fill up the 1 gallon now.Cameron_z6a_N.S. wrote:welcome to the forum, great pics! do you have any idea of the age of your larger MP?
Well I don't want to plant my palm because I don't want to leave it behind when I leave home in a few years. But the root growth hasn't done anyhting it still has the shape of the 5 gallon it was in 2 years ago.lucky1 wrote:Welcome to the forum Wollemi25, nice to have you aboard.

I managed to get into my greenhouse to check the min/max thermometer today. Low was 7.2F since I last checked....probably occurred the night we dropped to -4F. So far the Wollemi pine, Sabal birmingham and Trachycarpus takil '2000' aka 'nanital' are doing ok. A few photos from today.

Tim, good to see your update.
7.2F = -14C, pretty darn good for a low, good that you had a lot of snow.
Everything does look very healthy.
Have you had some leaves on a Yucca collapse in cold previously?
Probably be fine, doesn't appear to be any damage higher up.
You'll get more clear trunk sooner.
Snow tunnel...cool, have never seen that before.
Most people just use an extension cord across the grass.
Thanks for the pics.

Three!!!! Wow.
The big one is a stunner.
Looks like you've got the bubbly "chocolate" bark.
Can't wait for mine to do that.
Are you allowing other stems to grow, or pruning them off to keep it to a central stem?
Thanks for the updated pics.
