Mystery "tropical plant"

Post by personalparadise »

I am giving up on trying to identify this myself. Another great buy at walmart (another $1.25 plant, I love their clearance), but unfortunately no name on it. The plant is about 10 to 12 inches tall right now and at least 6 inches across. It is super dense right in the center and my camera doesnt capture it well, but the new leaves grow out of it straight up with no unfurling of any type

Looks like Dracaena deremensis 'Janet Craig', also known as the "Janet Craig Plant"

Definetly a janet craig, but I think its "Compacta". much much shorter growing, with shorter leaves.. same general care... no direct light, no flouridated water ( makes the leaves dry out bad).... Other wise their bullet proof..... My full size Janet Craig is almsto above 7 feet tall, and has been located beside the furnace for years with no real ill effects..
