Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

:thumbleft: great! how do you protect your trachys? I am in zone 6 mass. and would not attempt a pindo palm here, you must really protect that one.

Actually This is gonna be that ones first year. I ran a test run on a smaller pindo and a test run on 4 trachy taylor form and some other palms They all made it with hardly any burnt leaf 2 trachy talors bit the dust but the strongest 2 survived. I basic pitched a tent kept out the elements and just used cloth lights. So this year I went with larger stuff.

I am in zone 6 but I have no idea what my micro climate zone is. I have the west and north blocked by 2 stories of brick building(my house) my yard gets blasted with full sun from sun rise till about 5 pm I am in the city and in the middle of lots of buildings. My yard barely ever gets to 0 degrees and theres almost never any wind. I have a laser gun that lets me check temps instantly and I have thermometers in different areas in the yard. On average my yard is almost exactly 10 degrees hotter then the front of my house. In the summer it really sucks because my yard roasts. Does anyone know how I can tell what my micro climate zone is? or are those just guestimates?

By using a recordable min/max thermometer and comparing it to an open area throughout the year.
