Cactus
Jay, You sure have some cool cacti. How long have some of them been in the ground? Do you provide overhead covers in the winter? What type of growing medium are they in?

Thanks Wes, This is the first year for most of the cacti. Most of the cacti are out in the open and some are under my overhang from the roof. In my cacti garden areas i use a fast draining mix of part soil, gravel and sand. Almost all of them are planted in raised areas. Other areas where they are planted are a mix of soil and sand. I don't plan on protecting any of the cacti this winter so i'll see which areas does the best. We only receive about 10 to 12 inches of precip a year which might be too much for some of my cacti but we'll see how they do.

Jay
