Steamy!

Post by hardyjim » Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:26 pm

Most beautiful day of the year--NOT!!(95f -humidity 75%-dewpoint 86! heat index 128!)ahhhhhhhhh!

That makes 3 days in a row with dewpoints of 86...........
Only 3 days this month with less than 70 dewpoint,12 days of +77and 8 days +80 dewpoint.......
-a recipe for killer storms with this much fuel in the atmosphere .........and the storms are firing right overhead!

I guess that's a good boost for your plants, especially bananas! Not rather comfortable for humans though.
We rarely get amything like steamy here - too dry, even counting in all the rain we had lately. Rain cooled everything a bit, so highest temp for this month will be 98F I suppose. Last June we got 104F as a high, it comes with 25-30% humidity attached here, so rather easy to handle with.

Little cooler here up north in the lower 80's but where getting rain. I'll take it it's been perfect here super comfortable. Grass is GREEN with just a little help, nice change. All of my water bill is going into my potted plants instead.

Jim,
I'm matching your temps down here but not your dewpoints. Wow! We at least get down to 79oF each day at 6 am.
Even the W, who loves heat, has been calling to have the AC (unused in a couple of years) serviced.
--Erik
P.S. my job keeps my outside all day, so I guess I'm dealing with it as well as the plants: LOTS of water!

Yep, it poured at home for about twenty minutes , hail 75 mph winds, trees and debris all over the place. I'm down the shore for a while so I missed it, hope my banana trees are ok, they are doing great and growing sooo big...Will go home this week to check on stuff. I'll take pics.
