Smoking in Paradise

Post by tropicman »

Sadly I don't get enough time to post or respond here,as of all the overtime hours,at work, and a wife with Alzheimer, and trying to grow a tropical paradise, with more plants, than I can take care of.
But today I'm smoking a weeks worth of meat outside, and taking time to relax a little.
Thought I'd take a few pictures of what I have done so far this spring.

Everything looks great,in a few of the shots I thought I
was looking at someones greenhouse from the inside- :)

Kind of like looking out from a greenhouse in a few pics, took me a while but I finally got everything outside.
Even after several weeks under shade cloths, first 80% to 50%,then only morning sun, things still fried in the sunshine.
Coconut trees burnt the worst, and they were in the sunroom at a south window everyday, soaking up lots of sunshine.
Majesty palms were in the garage with no sunshine, and they took to the sun just fine,I give up trying to acclimate my tropicals to the sunshine!!!LOL

A delightful tropical jungle!
You're one of the few people who can keep majesty palms alive indoors over winter.

Smoking almost done?
BBQ at your place!

Thanks for the pics.

I just finished off the chicken, and it was wonderful!!!
The rest is still on the smoker, which should come off, about 8pm,another 2 hours.
I believe the Majesty palms are the easiest to grow,I keep them fairly dry ,but mist daily, and it works for me.

Tropicman,
the wife and I can be there in two hours. :D
My wife is a strict carnivore. She drooled over the meat shots while I was in awe of the plants.

Majesty palms are so tough to keep nice.
Most people have stopped buying them as they fail quickly once home.
Glad you've got the knack.

Yup...those meat shots were wonderful.
Where is my BBQ sauce?

Thanks for those great pics...keep 'em coming.
