Here is a pic of my largest male trachycarpus male flowers. They seem to be a lot larger this year.

I can't remember how old it is but I would say between 10 to 12 years.
I still haven't planted my yucca yet. Hopefully this weekend.

Hey Wes,

I was in N. Van yesterday and stopped by Maple leaf gardens and saw that they have some 3 gallon Butia Capitata for $30. They also have some date palms there also. I picked up a 5 gallon y. rostrata and another 5 gallon y. elata. I wish i could have stopped by your place to check out your garden but Maple leaf gardens was just a quick stop on the way home.

Regards,
Jay

Wes that Trachy looks very healthy. What type of fertilizing routine? What type of fertilizer do you use?Nice to see your Photos as usual.

John,
I just use miracle grow once in late winter and once more in mid summer and some epson salts in early spring. They grow very quickly here. I think the real key is keep them well watered in the summer.
Jay,
Too bad I didn't get to see you, but for sure the next time you are in Vancouver make sure you let me know. Maple Leaf is a great place for exotics and they are reasonably priced. I keep asking them to bring in needles and sabal minors but they still haven't. All of us have to keep asking them and then I think they will.

You will have to show me the pics once you have your new yuccas planted.
You know there is another Maple Leaf on the North Shore but this one is in West Van. They may have more yucca elatas, I will take a drive by for you and let you know.
