Earliest 80f Day?

Post by Paul Ont » Mon Apr 05, 2010 1:25 pm

I think we may have had our earliest 80f day ever this past Friday. Amazingly, I hit 27C (80.6) on Friday and 26C (78.8F) on Saturday. Amazingly early for these temps in my zone 4b/5a location. It was above 20C for 5 days with only a trace of rain this morning. It's all ending now with temps returning to 'just' above normal for the next week. I keep thinking that we'll pay for it waith a late hard freeze...

I also had my earliest Magnolia bloom (by 2 weeks)... And was out planting and setting up new garden beds this past weekend... Simply incredible to be doing this the first weekend of April in my climate!

I'm loving it down here. Easter last year came with a hard freeze. This year, I'm sunburned from being outside so much. --Erik

I'm sooooo jealous of you guys...

Our temp is, well, the pits (see below).

No sun, no warmth, no gardening
But the spinach and peas are up!

Let us hope this is not only the El Nino (or La Nina?!?) effect...
