Hi Steve
Things are looking good, you apparently got a hardy Robusta than any of mine!!!!
I too look for the freshest seed, most of mine I bought from Jerry Andersen,he advertised very fresh seeds, having nurseries in Cali. and Hawaii,I'm pretty sure he deals with fresh seeds. I have a book on palms, that says most of these seeds take 3 to 6 months to germinate,so were about the half way mark,so time will tell.

You're waiting a year or two for some seeds to pop????
Gosh I'll have to remember not to order any of those

everything looks good in there, nice you're getting sun.

That robusta is a keeper!

Look at the length on the first petiole! 8)
It'll be nice to watch the Nypa develop.
I had seen a picture of many (perhaps thousands) planted along streambanks somewhere in India.
Their petioles stood straight up, crowded by neighboring fronds, not unlike an older Dioon edule or D.spinulosum.

Barb,

Can't find them again, but I remember seeing those photos.
There is a habitat photo on this page, http://www.ramsar.org/wn/w.n.srilanka_maduganga.htm

These folks are the only ones with more palms than you.

I really like the upright growth habit of the Nypa.

This'll be a wonderful palm for you, Steve.
And those goldfish seem to agree.
They're encouraging the roots to spread. :D
