Yup, the only spear is gone.
Wobbled during careful planting up (out of the ground where it was suffering).
Just touched it and out it came.
Anybody know of a Canadian source for, say, a 2 year old Bottle Palm?
Too expensive out of the US (phyto, etc.).

barb,
I have seen bottle palms around here. its a ways from you but it is canadian...
broadway gardens - http://www.broadwaygardens.com/products/tropicals.html (ask for tony, great guy, will bend over backwards)
valleview gardens - http://www.valleyviewgardens.com/gallery.htm (have seen plenty here)
terra greenhouses - http://www.terragreenhouses.com/ (not sure about here, but have seen them a couple years ago)
courtland gardens - http://www.courtlandgardens.ca/gallery-palm_trees.asp (these guys have large palms but worth a shot)
sharples greenhouses - no web site - 905 679 4192 (seen small ones here once in a while)
If you find one around here that you want, find out how much to ship it to you via them and then see if its cheaper for me to send it to you cause I would be happy to help!!!

sorry to hear about your bottle palm. I saw it in another post late last week and it did not look good (I assume it's the same one from the post). Oh well, an excuse to get another one in better shape and better looking. Nothing worse than holding onto a declining plant/tree waiting for it to recover , over analyzing what happened to it and overcaring for it.
As I have always said, I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy.
