Dean those palms and cycads look great. How old are the Sabals? Is the side of your house south facing?

John,
Those Sabals are about 7 years old. No, that side of the house faces East. Thanks for the compliments.
I have some Poison Ivy I need to go in and spray tommorow. So I have to be really careful not to get it on my babies.

You don't have to be crazy to grow palms in Alberta..... But it helps

Dean great palms. You can use the Roundup for poison ivy, it wont harm the Sabals. I use it all the time & it has never damaged my Sabals.

Thanks you all. Yes, I'm very proud of my palms and cycads.
Todd, yes, I'm going to use some Round Up. I didn't know that it wont harm my Sabals. The only problem is it's growing right next to some Lemon Grass I need to dig out. That's why I have to get some rubber gloves out and do the Round up thing w/ a sponge. I don't want to harm the Lemon Grass.
In case anybody is wandering what's in the 10-gallon pots in the middle picture they are bamboos. Shade loving Chimonobambusa quadrangularis, Pseudosasa japonica 'Tsutsumiana', Qiongzhuea tumidissinoda.
