Hi Everyone :D ,
I am back from our trip. We had a very good time and I took a lot of pics and if I every get them developed I will show everyone some of the things I saw.
I did not get to travel into Mexico, only into a border town, but it was so much fun :D It sure makes me happy to be an American. I feel for people in other countries that don't have it as well as I do here.
I seen so many places I have never seen before :D Yuma was very cool 8) and had the best weather, it was a great place to stay. We also traveled into the deserts of California and Nevada. I got to travel into Glendale Nevada, this is where the controversial wild palms are that are not supposed to be native  I seen small forest of palms in southern Arizona along the colarado river, but are nothing like the palm forests by Glendale NV. These palms are old and far away from other older palms of the area. I also noticed that a cold spell came through the area this winter and completely froze back other Filifera palms to the point of looking comepletly dead, but a mile to the north are hundreds of untouched wild palms. I think these palms have been there a very long time. I also think they need to do more studies on these palms
We had so much fun, I hope everyone gets a chance to visit there :D .

Kansas,
Give me a PM with your address and I will send out your palm this week :D

I just wrote that I am going to wait a week or so before I order. The wife wants (OK I do too) a big screen TV for the game, plus our basement is huge and all we have is a little 27". We have to squint to see it from the couch.
So I will get with you in a week or so. How much was it again?

Aaron,

It would be cool to check it out. :D I will definetly try to make it there. I'm not sure which route we are going to take when we drive but it would be nice to drive through Idaho again and see the desert.

Jay, make sure if you go to Glendale NV. to get some seeds of the wild palms. There is a bunch north of the town. I did not have a chance to get any when I was down there (I was not driving  ) But if you do, I would like to buy some off you :D or trade something for them? If you come this way through Idaho I would trade what ever you want for them:D

I too am headed down to Las vegas on Feb 9. How far is Glendale from LV? If it isn't too far I'll get some seeds. Whenever I go to a place with palms I always pic up some seeds.

Sorry.... I just noticed that I been calling Logandale by the name of Glendale. My Mistake :? It is the town of Logandale Nevada North of Overton Nevada  That is where the palms are that I was taking about. :D

Nice pics Aaron. The first photo I`m guessing is of a tall slender trunk W. robusta? the shorter fatter trunk is a W.filifera? Show us more of those warmer weather palm pics.

This is a sabal palm from the old yuma prison, but not sure if it is sabal mexicana or sabal palmetto? I know in other parts of town there was smaller sabal mexicanas around.
