cheap or free plastic deep palm pots?

Post by lucky1 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 9:03 am

Received a great tip from Lori at Jurassicplantsnursery.com

Big grocery stores receive cut flowers weekly from wholesaler in 10" and 14" tall plastic tubs like these:

Some stores will let you have them for 25 cents each, or maybe free

Just drill a drain hole.
Perfect tall pots for young palms.

I'm off to make friends with my local grocer :D

Let us know how they work. They sure look good, and priced right!

I'm the butthead for not thinking of this years ago!

Talked to a grocer who says I can HAVE 15 each and every week of the year.
Yippeeee!

Wonder if he'll deliver

Buy your groceries there and "deliver" is essentially free. That's the tact I plan to take, after your tip.

...and encourage your friends to buy cut flowers for every birthday, anniversary, etc.

That way you'll get more pots!

Drilled drain holes today in all of 'em.
Recounted, there are 53 pots! :D

I heard some stores THROW THEM INTO THE GARBAGE...

For the sake of the environment, folks, get these from your grocer who sells cut flowers.
