Public thanks to Laaz!

Post by Cali-wanna-b » Sat Jan 20, 2007 9:50 am

Just wanted to say thanks to Laaz for the great palms he sent me. I was happy to be receiving a nice sabal minor for 3 trachycarpus F. 'Bulgaria' seedlings. Instead I received 3 straight frond Butia capitata, 6 regular Butia capitata and 3 super sabal minors!!! It was better than christmas morning!!!

Thanks again!!!

I second the motion. Laaz is a standup guy and has always been very helpful and accomodating. He's been a very welcome addition to Palms North. Check his link to the Citrus forum for any citrus questions.

Heck, I have not even gotten anything from Laaz and I think he is the best addition to PN since I got here. His first hand knowledge is helping every day.

You can count on that. I hope in five years to plant a bunch of them in Stanley Park and around the neighbourhood but only after my yard is covered in them.
S. minor var south carolina/north vancouver. This is a palm that will naturalize in this climate just like the trachycarpus species.

Barrie the local Butias should have ripe fruit starting the middle of July. The trees ar loaded up this year, seems more than most years. Both "Strictor" have some very nice seed forming.

I would like to thank him as well. We had 98% germination on the yuzu, satsuma, and faustrime.
