Cat rejecting my palm identifications

Post by TerdalFarm » Fri Mar 04, 2011 10:31 am

Don's cat photo put me in mind of this.
"Pepper" is borderline wildlife. She is a feral "barn cat" but I did pay to have her spayed and get her shots and I feed her and her sisters. My son named her pepper. She meets me at the back door each morning to accompany me through the palm garden.
Yesterday, I set out some of the "desert palms" I was gifted last summer. They came with metal tags giving latin and common names and the date started. After potting them up, I kept the tags with each. They were happily growing in the heated "palm hut" this winter until that awful February 10 when it got to +8 F in there (with heat on full). As a collection, they are suffering and trying to recover indoors. I put them out on the beach yesterday to enjoy a warm day. Well, the cat pulled out two tags and tossed them on the beach. I put them back but wonder--does she know more than I about palm identification?
