Hello from Maryland

Post by JackLord » Wed Mar 31, 2010 10:31 am

Hi,

Great site. I live in Maryland just outside DC. I have been experimenting with hardy palms since 2002 and presently have 5 types growing in the garden. There are 10 in total and have not lost one yet.

Look forward to learning more. Thanks.

Welcome aboard, Jack.

...sounds like we can learn from YOU.

Any pictures you can post?

Thanks Barb. Sadly, I am better with plants than digital cameras. Still analog for me.

I doubt I have much to teach. I just follow the basics. From what I have seen so far, a lot of folks here are bolder than I.

babysteps, Jack, babysteps.

I remember when I received my digital, didn't have a clue what to do when or where to store the photos.
Got a Flickr account for $29.00 a year, best investment I ever made.
3,000+ photos on there now.

We were all "there" (novice) at the digital thingy not so long ago.
Now the only place I don't take my camera is the bathroom.
(never mind the comments, folks!)

You'll be buying a digital camera in no time, we'd LOVE to see your palms.

Welcome from another metro DC member. I'm growing trachys, needles, s. minors and hardy bananas here in Silver Spring. As you say, it can be done!
