Post your summer highs!

Post by DesertZone » Fri Jul 04, 2014 4:34 pm

So far I have a 102f (at my house). I was looking at the temps on the computer and here we have 97f for Shoshone Idaho and my place in Arizona is 84f.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

This time last year we were in a long period of very warm to hot weather (UK standards of course  ) This year is different although we did hit 80F today but unfortunately we are in a trough and looking desperately for a ridge to settle things down. I hope you are all enjoying the heat.... after your Winter you deserve it. :D

Last week we got 2 rounds of flash floods.
We needed some, but was a bit more than the dry ground could take.

This August has been the warmest of all I can remember. Yesterday's record was 99ºF! We need some rain asap.

Update

Looks like 93F so far,I know the heat index was
around 110F one day....the big story continues to
be the abundant rainfall....close to 10" last month
and over an inch last night again.Never seen the
plants grow so fast!

I feel your pain...a few years ago it was like
that here, the soil was like chalk and the Bananas
would reluctantly grow a new leaf only when 1"+ rain fell...
I think that happened every other month

In Manzanita, Oregon, the highest I found was 83 oF. That is about as warm as it ever gets there: Portland was >100 oF then.
In Tulsa, the highest has been 102 oF a few times. As with Jim, the rains are keeping the heat down.

86 oF (30 oF) in Manzanita right now! To bad I'm in Tulsa now, where the temperature is the same. But Tulsa will be colder than Manzanita tomorrow. Weird.
