At least we're on the right side of January...

While everybody's been shivering in January, Fairbanks Alaska was above zero for several weeks.

Different situation here. How on earth am I going to test out all my new plants when there is no frost or snow. This is a terrible situation... not  Its very strange to see my abutilons still in leaf and flower. I even have an Alstroemeria still in leaf above ground. My hardy Fuschia is still in leaf. never seen anything like this here even during our run of warm winters in the 90's. LOTS of rain though glug glug.

Well there's a price to pay for our mild weather. Another storm is due to hit the UK on Saturday with consistent 70-80 mph winds, the power of this storm will raise sea levels in places by 60ft and will cause untold damage to coastal areas in Wales and south west England aided and abetted by torrential rain. Large swathes of south west England and Somerset are under water and Farmers are now having to sell their cattle as there is nowhere for them to feed. There is fury amongst the people here through Government inaction.
