Now if only winter would go up by, oh, say 5 or 6 degrees.
Just think of what you could grow unprotected!

I feel for you people in places with high humidity, 100f here, but 12% humidity. Hot but not bad.

I hope for rain and cooler weather for the midwest. :)

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

The Jet stream is back with a vengeance after last weekends pleasantly warm weather where some parts (London/Southeast England hit the heady heights of 32C/90F
The summer of 1976 is imprinted in my mind. Temperatures regularly in the 90F+ All our Reservoirs ran dry. In government a minister for Drought was created and we we were officially told to "bath with a friend". Hmmm, yeah, lovely :D .... I believe the birth rate went up the following year. Certainly 2006 was our last warm summer to speak of. Its been downhill ever since both Summer and Winter wise.

"bath with a friend".
I sure like your Minister of Drought's ideas, Andy.
Especially since I'm beyond child-bearing age...yippeeeeeee!

Our Canadian municipal governments are like that too.
One stoooooopid occurrence--of anything--and they hire someone new with that title.

The first 3 months of spring we could've used a Minister of Rainfall.
To tell us what, I don't know.

You've had 6 years of crappy summers?
Did they fire him? ha ha

Barb... As soon as he was appointed the heavens opened up so he got the sack quite quickly. We had a very dry Winter right up to March so our Water Companies imposed a hose pipe ban. Immediately after that we had non stop rain for close to three Months....It always happens

That's hilarious, Andy.
Kinda like washing the car to bring on a rainstorm.
non stop rain for close to three Months
Holy crow, three months????

This morning on the weather channel, they showed the deluge that hit Las Vegas Nevada last night.
Cars were driving down streets that had up to 2 feet of water...

We've cooled off again nicely, now sunny and WARM (versus the previous blistering gut-sucking heat of 37C and 39C)

I don't remember that winter because it did not happen :) we did get a 15" storm though.

I was thinking yesterday....what if Ma nature decides to reverse the trend in winter???

Not likely, dry ground heats up fast and they are already saying a dry fall and winter-with above normal temps.

Time will tell.

I think we will break a 100 today and maybe even get lower than 8% humidity.

Wasn't that when the sheer weight of continual snows buried your GHs?

Have read that most of the eastern half of North America is supposed to be above normal temps until Hallowe'en.

For the first time in ages, we have a cloudy morning.
Yippeee.

You must spend half your waking hours watering plants, Jim.
