Daytime highes have been well above average and nightime lows have been around freezing. 40+ degree F temperature swing from moring low to afternoon high. Also it has been very dry considering this is the rainy season.

ice wine

Post by TerdalFarm » Thu Dec 29, 2011 4:58 pm

I loved the bit about ice wine. Always got to cover both sides of the story, eh?
If you have never had ice wine, try a bottle this weekend. Expensive but tasty.

We had a very nice day like 47F/ 8.3C and some much needed rain.

I spent all that time covering my plants and I don't think a one needs it. :x But I like that. :D

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

If global warming means no ice wine, well, we all have to make sacrifices.
Tulsa has been delightfully warm while we've been away. Think they hit 70 oF today!

And no, we have NOT used the AC down here in Belize. Heck, even the fan is off right now

Easy trade-off IMO (yech!).
I'll take the GW.
very dry considering this is the rainy season
Jubaea made a good point...same here.
No measurable rain or snow here...and snow storage in the hills is our next summer's water supply. :|

But the sunshine and warmish winds were lovely.

If only we knew in advance!

We apparently have arctic air coming in 5 or 6 days...was hoping it would stay in Siberia, or Alaska.

January can be a brutal month...

The weather is really mixed. I noticed yesterday that my Platanus x acerifolia wants to start his new season to grow...
I'm worried about it beacuse it's hard to believe there will be no winter this winter...

Cooling off here in another week, fine with me.......

The palms are hardened off by this time of year and usually don't see any further damage....

unless I do something stupid in spring

anyway,if it doesn't get cold in Jan/Feb we almost always pay for it in March/April.

Maybe we can sneak by without to bad a winter considering how rough the last 3 were???

A gift we'd all welcome.

I'm surprised at our lack of snow...a dusting here and there.
Light rain last night around midnight

Agree we'll "pay" for it...just a matter of when.

Big WEATHER NEWS in KC!! Or Not!

Post by kcpalms » Wed Jan 11, 2012 2:10 pm

The news stations are all hyping up this cold blast we have coming in (the forecast is our BIGGEST HEADLINE!) and I seen more trucks with plows out today than I have noticed all winter! Everyone seems to be so excited and on edge about the forecasted 15 - 20f overnight lows and a snowfall of less than one inch expected! It is true some folks DO like winter! Back to near 60f by Sunday! What?
