How do you post a weather sticker after each post?

Post by TimMAz6 » Thu Sep 09, 2010 7:02 pm

I tried to add a weather sticker and it's too long (exceeds 255 characters). Any help? Thanks.

Tim,
great question. I had that one myself when I joined last year.
What I found: it takes the intervention of Jay (the admin). He can override those character restrictions. Just send him a PM and he'll help you.
Hope to see your weather here soon.

Man, that would be great. I would love to put on TWC stick for Pearce AZ.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

I raised the character count so you can now all add your weather banners. :)

Yup, Tim, the old posts get updated with the new sticker info.

That's why you'll see an old July posting with the same temp (-15C) as when you posted your new topic in January, when it really was -15C.

Your sticker works great!

Tim,
yes, its working!
One thing to remember. It shows current weather, not the weather at the time of the post. This gets weird when you read posts from January of 2008 about cold weather and the sticker says it is 80oF where the poster is. The sticker gives the weather at that precise moment when you look at it.
And so of course when I move to Belize in a couple of decades and change my sticker to there, none of my 2010 cold weather posts will make any sense

On the first line of the "signature" block (right under Interests, on Profile page)

If it bombs (which mine did), just PM Jay, email the block of text you want in there, and he'll do it for you in a jiffy.

canadian, we ended up having this very discussion on the Weevil post ... no wonder I couldn't find it right away

Scroll down to the Sept.19th discussion until you see the links to the instructions page for weather underground.

To anyone seeing my weather sticker. It's showing the airport temperature. Mine is higher either at night or day time on 4 C degrees. The current T at airport is minus 8 (C), at my place minus 4 (C).
