Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.

Thanks folks.
Southern Magnolia?
Even the Euonymous "shattered" while I was clipping them at -19C.
Leaves fell off...crashing to the ground. Well, OK, not crashing, but you get the meaning.

Not fun at that temp.

So I got busy inside.
Love decorating for Christmas :compress: :hello2: so much fun.

I know...I know...the "Merry Christmas" base wrap is upside down. :|

Blizzard today, snowing like the dickens.
Streets in town were brutal, cars every which way.

Success! Made it back up the driveway. :D

Aaron, that's soooooo pretty.
Truly lovely.

One day, you'll have to teach me how to do that please.

Glad to see you're getting some white insulation around the roots.

Thanks.

I don't know how to do the snow flakes, the image place did it all on it's own. :D

I'm hoping it all melts, so as to warm the ground in the day, even though it has not been above freezing most of the snow is melted. :D That dry ground makes it so much warmer in the sun, feel nice even on the coldest days (if the sun is out and no wind) The dry ground keeps the frost out, I can still dig in the ground with a shovel. :D

You can????

Holy toodles, I'd get sparks if I tried to get a shovel in the ground after 2 arctic blasts.

Yup, dry ground does warm up in sunshine.
But if there's no sun around for days on end, and bitterly cold, good to have a few inches of snow I think.

BTW, what's the "image place"?
A photoshop program?

Well, no moisture in the ground here. I dug out in the street today, can't freeze without water. :D

Snow is good, but I think my plants do better without it. Unless I have them covered, than I don't mind the snow.

The image place is Picasa.

Barb, Aaron, very nice and so different! Nice The Chola! And "the Snow".
It's funny. Kazakhstan is a State with a population which is muslim mostly. I am the Orthodox formally but the Atheist in fact. The 24-25 th December is not Xmas neither in Kazakhstan nor in Russia, where the Ortodox Christmas is celebrating on January the 7th. A New Year Eve is a trully the Season celebration here.

So you didn't have any moisture in the Fall, Aaron?
Obviously better for succulents to go into winter like that, yet my plain ole' yucca filamentosas got a lot of rain this Fall before the cold arrived.
Mine show a lot of leaf damage from cold with little snow cover.

Cool feature that Picasa offers. :D

Overheard a woman yesterday at a store saying "wish we were Ukrainian so our Christmas were later and we'd have cheaper prices in January".

Barb, you will not believe, but we have so called "The Old New Year" too which is celebrating on January the 13th. In 1918 Russia replaced the Julian calendar by the Gregorian calendar but the human memory is so strong...

Igor, now I know that would mean a whole lot of celebrating in the New Year.
My liver couldn't handle it. :clown:

I told you - Kazakhstan is a muslim country. So we are not those who celebrate from December the 24th to January the 14th. But the Russians in Russia - oh, man!!! It's something! No wonder why they live as how they live.
