I grow them too but I can not show them since but there is still snow in my garden....

I grow them too. Just have a Rufa and small F nitida

bend it to the ground, bury the crap out of it in leaves, then tarp it. We usually have reliable snow so that helps with insulation

That's the problem here. Lots of Winters with too few snow :(
