Bought a coconut palm... need help with getting things going.

Post by InsanePalmNinja » Tue Jul 04, 2017 6:15 pm

So, i was at Myirles today and saw the palm right there. I wanted one so I bought it and when i got it back home and realized I didn't really know anything about growing them. I had better luck with the cold hardy palms than tropical palms.

Nobody panics when people plant normal trees because its part of the plan... if someone plants a Palm EVERYONE LOSES THERE MINDS!

Coconut palms are moisture loving plants grown in sandy and loamy soil. They grow beautifully in a tropical climate. They can also be grown indoors if a proper bright light is provided through a large glass-paneled roof or structure.

You'll surely get enough ideas on how to grow coconut palms from this article: https://www.gardeningchannel.com/how-to ... onut-palm/.

Adding gravel to the palm is a good option for weed control. I do have a coconut palm in my yard for which I used gravel from a landscape supply company, Toronto. From the different types of gravel available, I chose Granular A type gravel. Adding gravel to the palm will also enhance the aesthetics.
