2 x 4s(cactus garden) are 8' by 8' so the Agave are getting some size.

For seven years now this Cordyline comes
back from the roots-it is under cover of the cactus protetction.

3rd or 4th year the Spider plant has come back from roots-also in cactus shelter.

These pics are of 1 McCurt- S.Lou and a S.Brazoria,2 were covered
with rose cones and had 1 c-9 X-mas light,the McCurtain
was covered but not heated-looks like they all came back!
Needle palms(not pictured)all died.

IMpressive the stuff that comes back under the shelter... The soil must not freeze in there??? The Sabals are really interesting to me, how many leaves will they push over the summer in your "hot" summer climate?

Good question....the Sabal are coming back from nothing.

I would guess 3 full leaves on average.

I think the cactus shelter soil temps stay around 38F-44F
close to the surface as it is mostly sand and rock that heats up fast.
