Big palm shipment is in!

Post by wxman » Thu May 01, 2014 10:04 am

1,100 lbs of palms here. (3) needle palms and (1) windmill palm.

Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me later this afternoon to get them in the ground.

No Phoenix, lol. I like cold hardy ones that only have to be covered 3 months a year. I got them from Palms Unlimited out of Mobile, AL. Great company to work with and the palms look great. The pallet was 1,100 lbs and cost approx $1,200 shipped to my loading dock. The needles ARE huge. I didn't measure as it was getting dark by the time I completed installation, but I think they are about 5-6' tall from ground to top of fronds. The trachy is over my head.

Here's a teaser pic from the new landscaping I'm putting in for my work's new building. Warning: It's far from complete yet. I probably have another 30-45 days to wrap it up.

Next week I have 4-5 ton of rock coming to finish the pond.

That's too dang cool, man! I love the "island" trachy! You have a pretty awesome boss to give you free reign on the landscaping. That is sure to turn heads and drum up business.
