Pulled the insulated covers off the palms and big basjoo.

No mold! :D :D Well done.

Did you use mostly heat tape? or C-9's? or a combination?

Your mystery palm looks like a Euro to me too.
Nice size, mine's a midget in comparison.

All they need now is sun at their bases.

Thanks Barb I only used heat tape on Euro and Musa Basjoo. The rest was 4 c-9 bulbs per plant. I made a mistake using the tc-3 cube. With the insulation on the plants they got to hot and dried the plants out. ( luckily I found this out in January , it was way to warm inside about 18C). I switched to tc-2 and it was perfect. Only the one chinese fan palm is in trouble that is because it overheated( with only 4 c-9 bulbs). The rest look fine to great.

Bet everything in your new GH came through swimmingly, too.

Stuff looks good, Keith.

Holy cow, only 4 C9s each.
But you make a good point with the TC 3 versus TC 2, especially with the added pink insulation.

You could perhaps have placed the TC 3 in a "warmer" spot, where it wouldn't need to kick on so often, or for so long.
I initially looked for a T2, but after seeing the range, the T3 may be better, with some adjustment of protection.
An ideal Thermocube would be one exactly between the T3 and T2 ranges.

Plus you're more sheltered in town, not subject to wild northwest winds.

That Chinese Fan with fried fronds may surprise you and send two spears up in quick succession.
Mine has died at least 4x.

The musa will be over your roof this summer.

Well done, buddy.

Thanks Barb. I wonder if I will have to cover up palms at night if temp drops to low. Most of the stuff in the greenhouse is fine, I lost a few seedlings and a few small bananas(I can never keep bananas alive inside in winter). Looks like it is going to be a nice sunshiny day today and plus 11C.

I close mine up at night, taping them shut, and just peel back the south side during the day.
Except the yuccas, which are fully open day and night now.

Gonna take the palm hut down maybe tomorrow.

Here's to all the global warming pushers, may your winters be -30 below and four feet of snow in your driveway. Because I want you happy.
