Trachycarpus species question...

Forgive me if I should know the answer to my own question, but I've recently purchased and planted 2 Trachycarpus "Fortunei's" and they must be very different species. One has very thin blades on the fan/frond that seem to "split" where they should, the other has the same fronds, but they seem to "split" at every other blade, which makes them very wide and almost curl downward. If anyone knows what I have here, I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks much. They both seem very happy this first season however!

Fortunei varies quite a bit,even from the same seed batch.

Also,the palms size makes a difference...as well
as environmental factors,my Trachys that have spear-pulled
often seem to have matured quicker or at least appear to have
some more advanced features you would expect on a larger palm
like heavy tomentum on the petioles.

Give them both some time growing in your climate and see if
they look a little more similar eventually.

I see this all the time. wide leaves and thin leaves. Depends where they get the seed from it does vary quite a bit. Some windmill palms and needle palms have similar leaves when young.
